Our Founder

The African Americans with Ataxia was founded in July 2019 by Letitia Diggs. The first name of the group was African Americans with Ataxia of the DMV. That name grew old after one year when the founder was approached by Veronica Denis a member of the group in the DMV and asked if she would consider taking the group global. Letitia responded “why not, I was thinking about that anyway “. This is a grassroots organization designed to meet the needs of brown skinned people. With the help of the Lord and her husband’s backing we received our 501(C)(3) status exactly two years from its inception.

Letitia’s hobbies include reading, grocery shopping and watching pimple popping videos. She resides in the DMV with her husband and four young adult children.
